A Hidden Holy Place in Akita: the Seitai Hoshikai〜５

If you don’t mind walking, you can go around the sightseeing spots in the center of Akita City.

It takes 7 hours to go around Senshu Park, Akita market, Museum, Nakaichi commercial facility, Akita City Folk Performing Arts Heritage Center, and Akarenga Folk Museum at a leisurely pace.

If you walk at a brisker pace, you can probably cover the distance in 5 hours.

There are also route buses available, which stop at the sightseeing places.

The guest stayed at the Castle Hotel.

It took less than 10 minutes at a leisurely pace from the hotel to the Catholic church, and from there, it took farther 10 minutes to Senshu Park.

The path to the park is along the moat.  In summer, the moat is covered with lotus flowers.

Unfortunately, my guests were there on March 31, neither lotus flowers nor cherry trees were in bloom yet.

Senshu Park was selected as one of the 100 best parks in Japan. In spring, you can see cherry blossoms. Soon after, the azaleas are in full bloom. In autumn, you can see the autumn colour of the leaves.
