Aoyaki Samurai Manor
It was built about 200 years ago. It is full of samurai-like dignity, such as the surrounding edges. The heritage has been preserved without keeping up with the times conveys.
​Ando Brewery
Soy sauce, miso, and Japanese "Sake" are brewed. The food that combines kiritanpo and miso, which originated in Akita, is very famous. You can also buy sake.

You can watch a demonstration of Kaba-zaiku (wild cherry bark work) production.
You can buy products that traditional craftsmen have demonstrated making.
There is a wide selection of traditional Akita crafts, such as mage-wappa,or bentwood products and Naroka-yaki pottery.

Kakunodate Cherry Blossoms Leather Craft Center

You can dress up in Kimono  at  "Tatetsuya" and go out to the samurai residences. You will have special memories of your visit.

Kimono dressing and rental fee: 5,000 yen/adult,   4,000 yen/child
Yukata dressing and rental fee: 4,000 yen
Time required: 30 minutes
Kimonos for men are also available.
Advance reservation is required.

Historical Samurai Residence Street

You can goin explore the historical homes of Japan's 400 year-old samunrai homes and enjoy beautiful natural surroundings.

How about a ride on a rickshaw?
The flowing view from a slightly elevated place will make for a different kind of view of the samurai residence.

Aoyagi Samurai House

Enter the samurai residence with a yakuimon gate, which shows the senior status of a samurai.
In addition, to the main building, armory, and gardens, there are six other buildings with exhibits of weapons, historical photographs, and  books

Buckwheat Noodles
"Soba Kiri Chosuke"  produce own 100 % buckwheat noodles ,which are used in their own original dish. 
Inaniwa Udon
One of the three major udon noodles in Japan, which originated in near Kakunodate.
Oyakodon
Oyakodon uses premium Hinai chicken, high quality brand from Oodate area.

Birch Crafts Tradition Center

Birch Craft Demonstration in The Traditional of Kakunodate Center.
Observe close-up local craftsmen and their intricate skills as they crate   kabazaiku products.

Nishinomiya House 

Walk arroud 5 warehouses and a main building with restaurants, sweets shops and rest areas. Also, Kakunodate's local suveniors are on sale here.
